Mission
The NINETY-NINES® INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN PILOTS® promotes advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight.
Established in 1929 by 99 women pilots, the members of The Ninety-Nines, Inc.®, International Organization of Women Pilots®, are represented in all areas of aviation today. And, to quote Amelia, fly “for the fun of it!”
Fly Now!
Fly Now is an initiative made through the Ninety-Nines to introduce as many people as possible to the adventure of flight. Pilots can hold a day where they do this or do this on their own whenever an opportunity arises to take someone up in the sky who has never experienced the wonder of flying in a small aircraft before.
Scholarships
The Mid-Atlantic Ninety-Nines are dedicated to helping other female pilots reach their aviation goals. We award an annual scholarship for advanced flight training and there are many other scholarship opportunities in our chapters as well.
Support
The main reason many join the Ninety-Nines is for the network of lifelong friends. You will find support through the Ninety-Nines from other women who have been in the aviation industry and through flight training. Our section has commercial pilots, flight instructors, A&Ps, engineers, and many women who fly just for the fun of it.
