The Mid-Atlantic Ninety-Nines is comprised of women aviators from 5 states, 1 district and 11 chapters. We reside in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia. We have the following chapters: Delaware, Eastern PA, Greater Pittsburgh, Keystone, Old Dominion, Shenandoah Valley, Sugarloaf, Washington, D.C. and West Virginia.
The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots was formed in 1929 by Ninety-Nine women pilots who organized to give support to women aviators. Amelia Earhart was one of our founding members. The sections were created first since there were few women pilots at the time. Today our organization boast over 6000 members from around the world!
The NINETY-NINES® INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN PILOTS® promotes advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support while honoring our unique history and sharing our passion for flight.
Established in 1929 by 99 women pilots, the members of The Ninety-Nines, Inc.®, International Organization of Women Pilots®, are represented in all areas of aviation today. And, to quote Amelia, fly "for the fun of it!"
